The room was huge, with a decent view, and it’s good value if you’re on a tight budget and still want space. The beds were fine, but the head end slopes down, so I could’ve used two pillows. They only provide one, and the resulting back and neck pain made sleeping comfortably difficult, though maybe that’s just me. The building is old, and so is the vintage wooden furniture, including the beds, table, TV stand, and mirror table. There are broken things, and the room was either badly cleaned or marked with old stains that won’t come out. The open WiFi was very unstable. They could make the place much better by renovating, but that would cost a lot, so they just keep running it as it is.

The pool is really nice, and the price is ridiculously low. But this is definitely no luxury stay, and the WiFi doesn’t work at all. It’s okay for a single guy or someone watching their budget, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re travelling with your wife. On my last night the power went out in my room, and I had to switch rooms at 5 AM. I’m pretty sure that would’ve been a problem if I hadn’t spoken Thai.

I checked out early because of the condition of the room at Sunday Wongamat Privacy Pattaya. There was visible mold on the walls, door, and in the bathroom, and the whole place was very dirty and poorly cared for. The shower curtain was stained and moldy too, which is completely unacceptable. This was unpleasant and also a serious health concern. The room clearly fell below basic hygiene standards. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Wongamat Privacy is a residential condominium where many owners live full time, even though it’s advertised online as a “resort residence” and some parts still operate like a hotel. Potential buyers and tenants should know that. Owners have dealt with ongoing concerns for years: unclear management, poor maintenance, flooding and leaks, aging infrastructure, security issues, and confusion over who is responsible, the developer or the management company. Online listings may show attractive pool photos and low nightly prices, but they don’t reveal the conditions behind the scenes. Many owners worry that short-term hotel use in a residential building harms security, wears down shared spaces, adds noise, and affects the living environment. Before booking or investing, I strongly recommend looking into the project’s legal and management situation and reading reviews from actual owners, not just tourist sites. The beautiful marketing photos may hide a very different reality behind the walls.
