X Hotel Pattaya

It's not the cheapest, and getting to the action takes a good walk. Still, it's clean and the staff are nice.

The hotel was clean, and my parents really liked the Chinese-style breakfast. It's well placed for getting around, with the beach, Terminal 21 and Central Marina Mall all within walking distance. There's also a massage place just across from the lobby. The front desk and owner can arrange a shuttle to the Sanctuary of Truth Museum and the bus station.

The room wasn't as advertised: there was no TV, the sink drain was clogged and smelled bad, the air conditioner was loud, and the fan blades faced the curtain and couldn't be adjusted. There was no phone in the room either. Management and staff were terrible. Guests arriving by car weren't allowed to register, and a car was blocking the way. We don't know whether it belonged to a hotel guest. Staff knocked on every room, while we waited an hour for the car to be moved. Another group waited three hours, and I felt bad for them. They should have found a car to tow it instead of leaving a large group waiting for three or four hours. We definitely won't return.

During a call on April 23, 2026 at 2:36 PM, the staff member who answered spoke sharply and aggressively. She abruptly said, “Is there something you need? I'm busy,” and wouldn't listen when there was supposedly nothing to worry about. It was the worst service experience I've had anywhere I've stayed. She sounded older, perhaps an auntie, and was argumentative, but I'm talking about that one woman only, not making a generalization about the other staff, who may be better. I plan to email the hotel with a complaint. If you don't have a service-minded attitude, don't answer the phone. Based on what actually happened, she should be replaced.
