The market is close, there’s a big parking area, somewhere to leave packages, and the QMB shuttle is useful. But if you’re trying to get on your feet financially, this dorm doesn’t make sense for a long stay. Rent is 3,600 baht, water costs 40 baht per unit, and electricity is 10 baht per unit on a digital meter that seems to climb very quickly. The monthly cost is about what you’d pay for a decent condo. Most residents are interns, and the shops downstairs often only open when the employee shuttle comes by. Some interns have nowhere else to stay, so they end up spending nearly all their earnings on rent and barely have enough left for food. I wish the relevant organizations would step in, but reports don’t seem to have led anywhere.

With a one-year contract, I’m paying 4,800 baht a month, and it doesn’t feel worth it. The hallway is really dirty and nobody cleans it. The elevator is old and filthy too. Water is 35 baht, with a 150 baht minimum, while electricity is 8 baht and the meter runs super fast. The monthly bill is ridiculous!

For 500 baht a night, I expected better. The floor was greasy and badly cleaned, and there were cockroaches everywhere. The room was very dirty.

They let other customers stay in a room after it had already been paid for. It was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and the management was terrible.

The room on the 3rd floor cost 450 baht, and the 2nd floor was a little more. The place looked nothing like the pictures. The surroundings and the building were run-down, old, and dirty, and the cleaning was careless. I was shocked to find ants throughout the 3rd-floor room. I’d walked in from the balcony to the front door, where the housekeeper had left a trash bag. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly, and staff hadn’t checked it before handing it over. The refrigerator was filthy, so I wouldn’t put anything in it. There was Burmese writing on the door, and scotch tape all over the walls, probably left from pictures. The housekeeper was a foreigner who seemed not to care about cleanliness and did a sloppy job. Staff quickly found another room upstairs on the 2nd floor, but none of the rooms were ready. Some were dusty, some had no running water, and others had lights that didn’t work. I wanted a refund, but I was exhausted, unfamiliar with the area, didn’t want to find somewhere else, and had to get up early the next day. In the end they gave me a 2nd-floor room without charging extra. It looked better than the others, but the floor was still dusty enough to leave my feet gray. The headboard, TV stand, TV, and remote were all thick with dust. The refrigerator was dusty outside, dirty inside, and didn’t get cold. The blankets and sheets smelled dusty and made me itchy. The mattress was lumpy and uneven, like it was stuffed with cotton, and the bed frame was falling apart. When I lifted the mattress, I found a door panel underneath being used to prop it up. Creepy. The bath mat smelled bad, and the towel was thin and didn’t absorb water, luckily I’d brought my own. The air conditioner barely cooled the room. I set it to 16 degrees, but it felt like 30.
