Calm at Bangphat

The pond setting is lovely, and I enjoyed sitting there. The people in the region were super friendly, too. But we left after just one day because of several problems: cleanliness, road noise, and, worst of all, a smell of piss, especially in the morning. For that price, it wasn't worth it. The place needs a proper clean and tidy-up. Edit: We traveled around Thailand and stayed in 14 places. This and one other are the only ones we remember badly.

We loved the local fishing village, about a five-minute walk away. The seafood menu there was excellent, and the village had the most spectacular sunset we've ever seen. The mangrove forest is right beside this hidden gem in Bangphat seaside, away from touristy Phuket town. After two nights of serenity and complete calm, we felt refreshed when we checked out. Mr Bang was friendly and hospitable, and we felt very welcome in his home. A 45-minute drive gets you to a kayaking trip and four caves: the ko tham lod, phi hua toh cave, tham lid nea cave(lagoon), and anaconda cave. That was the highlight of our trip. We'll miss this place. Thanks again for the hospitality.

Mr Bang was a caring host who took care of whatever we needed. You can use the bikes and kayaks for free, and he can also help rent a motorbike for 300BHT/day, which is useful for getting around and exploring. The bungalows sit above a lake beside the mangroves, about 20 minutes from the city in a very authentic area. It's peaceful and relaxing. A five-minute bike ride takes you to a fishing village that's beautiful and authentic, with delicious food. If bugs don't bother you and you'd like somewhere remote and calm, I definitely recommend it. Thank you Mr Bang 🙏🏻

A soothing, quiet place to be close to nature, with beautiful fish and amazing birds stopping by. Mr.Bang and his family were welcoming and helpful. The seafood nearby is a real taste of the sea, about an 11-minute walk away. Smiling people all around, a nice experience.
