Green Hill Hotel Phayao

The pool is huge and clean, with room for swimming laps or just messing around. The lakeside hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooms are spotless and spacious, with all the amenities, even a bathtub. I'd definitely recommend staying here and would happily return.

The breakfast was pretty poor, and I thought 1,400 baht was a bit much for a lake view room. The room itself was very nice, with a comfortable bed, a tub and shower in the bathroom, and a huge TV. The view of the lake was good, but there were no chairs on the balcony or by the pool. I don't really understand why there's a bathtub.

We had a three bed room for my wife, daughter and me. It was clean, spacious and well equipped, with a bath, a shower, and a separate little room with a single bed. We couldn't find much to fault. We didn't have breakfast included, and I'm not sure whether it can be included, but there are plenty of places to eat in Phayao town centre anyway. Green Hill feels like a hidden gem in Phayao. We lived there for seven years and hadn't been back for almost four years because of Covid. The hotel wasn't there before, and I'd gladly recommend it to anyone visiting Phayao or Northern Thailand. The pool is the best I've come across at a hotel, pretty much anywhere. It's a large 20 x 20 m salt water pool, though you don't notice the salt. There's not much shade, but the pool is exceptional and beats most of the 4 and 5 star hotel pools I've used in Bangkok. Great value too.

We stayed for two nights and would happily come back. The hotel is clean and very well kept, with spacious rooms and a spectacular view over the lakeside. Staff are friendly, and there are plenty of restaurants and a 7/11 nearby.
