Ban Bang Home Resort

We had a nice family stay in little apartments set in a lovely garden with ponds, flowers, birds, and cats. The resort's owner is so kind. She showed my children how to make chips with herbs.

We loved the peaceful privacy and lovely garden around this beautiful place. The bungalows were clean and comfortable, the staff very nice, and they have local craft beer too. It's pet friendly.

The natural pool was one of my favorite spots. It has no chemicals, just lily pads and little silver fish that jump when you swim. It's nice to sit by in the daytime or at night. There are shaded raised pavilions with fans, tables, and chairs where you can work, eat, or daydream. You can borrow bicycles, and the beach is a short 2 km ride away. I also loved the vegetable garden, especially the salads with home-grown lettuce, and the little tree house pavilion tucked among the branches with a view over the property. At night, lights in the trees and along the paths make the place charming. Ban Bang Home Resort was recommended by a Thai friend in nearby Phetchaburi. I wanted somewhere quiet near the beach with A/C as the hot season approached. It felt so welcoming and homey that we didn't want to leave. The layout is creative, with a winding path to six separate rooms and shaded places to hang out. Each room has its own design and decor, and they were all clean and well maintained. You can tell the place is run with care. Ohn manages the resort with her sister. Her English is good, and when I arrived with my partner, she let us know a bull racing festival was happening at the nearby temple that weekend and that music would be loud late into the night. She encouraged us to go see it, and we did. We stayed two nights in “The Glass House” (pictured). A week later, we returned with a third American friend and stayed in a larger yellow building containing two separate rooms. Each room has a bathroom with hot water, and the sheets and linens are soft and comfortable. The Glass House has a great hammock on its side. Ohn also pointed out the biggest building, which could fit a whole family or a big group of friends. Guests can bring their dogs. There's a family of affectionate cats and two old resident dogs. A field across from the pool has cows grazing through the day, and lots of birds call the property home. All of it adds to the peaceful, natural charm. The food is good and very affordable. I was shocked by how low the bill was. There's no menu, but they can make almost anything you ask for and bring it to wherever you're hanging out. When I asked Ohn about the guests, she said around 75 percent are Thai, and the other 25 percent Chinese or other foreign tourists. She also said many guests are bird watchers and cyclists. I recommend Ban Bang Home Resort for its friendly, peaceful, family feel, good food, comfortable rooms, and unique character. It's clearly well loved and well run.

We were completely happy with our choice to stay at Bang ban resort. The place was lovely, clean, cozy, and comfortable, with an amazing sunrise. The girls treated us even better than we could have imagined and made us feel at home. The location works well too: there are bicycles for the 10 minute ride to the beach, and a motorbike with helmet to rent for a really good price.
