Phimai Residence

The one downside for me was the early morning street noise. Around 7:00AM, a pickup with a huge speaker played extremely loud music and adverts, going back and forth every ten minutes or so for about an hour. I wasn’t amused. It’s hard to blame the hotel, though better sound insulation would help. Light sleepers might want a more expensive room at the back; if you’re used to city noise, it should be fine. Otherwise, the place is very clean and well kept, with a sparkling clean bathroom, excellent wifi in my third-floor room, and very cool aircon. The staff were courteous and helpful, and it’s a good deal. It’s close to Phimai Historical Park and the city center, with several good food options nearby, including Miharu Japanese restaurant, Da De Bar, and a fried chicken food truck a few hundred meters southwest near the supermart and the Witthaya school. I wish there were laws against that kind of loud advertising so early in the morning, but... This is Thailand.

It’s a shophouse, and there are very few staff. If you’re going to the top, expect to walk up four floors. Inside, everything is new, with plenty of safety features like cameras and fire alarms. The walls still have fresh paint, too. It’s two minutes on foot from the Night market and three from Phimai historical park. We got it for 500 as a walk-in, and a bit less through Agoda. In the morning, traffic below woke us up, and the curtains don’t really block the light. If I pass through Phimai again, I’ll come back.

The hotel was very clean and quiet, with a balcony and a great location. The price was amazing, and there’s parking for electric bikes. I’ll definitely come back.

The place was clean and the bed really comfortable, so it was a very nice, comfy stay. Parking is limited, and there was no breakfast service while we were there.
