Aekkeko Hostel

It’s a peaceful spot, but still easy to meet other travellers, and the location is great. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room and bed were just right for me, with privacy in the dorm, a comfortable mattress and cushions, and air conditioning that wasn’t set too hot or cold. There’s a fully equipped kitchen, plus coffee, tea and water, and everything is very clean. They wash things every day, and it shows. The bathroom and shower were great too. If you go to bed early, you might hear street noise, though it wasn’t a problem for me. Earplugs would block it out if it bothers you. I’d really recommend this place.

The host was so friendly, helpful and kind. There’s also a home book store and a mini library by the entrance. Loved staying at Aekkeko and would come back 🩷🩷

It’s a cute hostel with a really good location. The rooms are comfortable, with curtains for privacy and a big locker for your stuff, and the bathrooms are clean. If you’re there on a Sunday, don’t miss the night market right outside.

Aekkeko feels like a special place to call home while you’re in town, and I’m glad I stayed there. The showers and toilets were a highlight for me, with plants growing and trailing all around while you brush your teeth. The whole place has a colorful, beautiful character, with lots of texture. It’s designed with care for guests’ comfort, with plants, a courtyard, skylights, several shared areas for relaxing or working, and a fully equipped kitchen. The dorms are set up especially well for privacy and comfort. I appreciated that it was cleaned every day, and the staff were great. The location is excellent, next to the local morning fruit and vegetable market, with authentic restaurants nearby. It’s also right by the lovely old town streets, full of distinctive coffee shops and stores, where the weekly night markets are held.
