Amata Patong Hotel

We picked one of the newly furnished rooms, and it was spacious and looked fresh. I had a quick look inside a vacant standard room with permission from the floor housekeeper, and ours felt much nicer by comparison. The location worked really well, with Jung Ceylon, Central, and Big C Extra all within walking distance. Breakfast was very good, the air conditioning worked fantastically, and reception and service were good. Both pools were enjoyable, and the rooftop one had a full 360-degree view, though neither had shade over the water. A very nice stay, and a nice hotel.

The one thing that worked for us was the housekeeping team doing their best, plus having a 7-Eleven nearby. The hotel charges for every little thing, though, and we won't be coming back or recommending it. Our room faced the main road despite costing more, and live rock music went on past 2 a.m. Earplugs and noise-cancelling headphones still didn't block it. My 8-year-old barely slept, and neither did my husband. When we asked to move somewhere quieter, if such a room existed, they wanted more money even though we were unhappy guests. The balcony doors need soundproofing. Not everyone visiting Phuket is there to party. The pools weren't great and looked nothing like the online photos. Getting to the beach meant walking around the resort in front, since its gated access blocked the direct route. Breakfast was chaotic: tables hadn't been cleared, we had to set out our own cutlery, and you had to arrive right on time, even for coffee, before they switched everything off.

The staff were kind and helpful throughout my 30-night stay. On my last day, I got food poisoning, and they arranged a late checkout without any trouble. My renovated deluxe room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The location was great too, close to almost everything. Highly recommended!

The hotel was gorgeous, and our renovated deluxe room with a pool view was stunning. My partner and I stayed for three weeks over Christmas, our first time there, and had an amazing trip. The food, facilities, and staff were all incredible, with five-star service throughout. It’s a short walk to Bangla Road and Patong Beach.
