Centre Point Patong

The room was filthy, more like a cheap motel, and I didn’t even want to set down my bags, wash my face, or brush my teeth. I got out as soon as I could. The area was also too noisy, with bars right below the window serving drinks and playing loud music late into the night and early morning. Service was lousy from check-in. The guy handed me a key and walked away without saying anything. I thought he’d gone to get something and would come back, but he didn’t. When he saw me looking for him, he just pointed me up the stairs. There’s no elevator, and I had to manage my heavy bag without help.

The shower was broken, and I’d already given the place one star, so there was nothing left to deduct. The rooms are very old and there are no facilities. There isn’t even a lift, so I had to carry my luggage up two levels. I can’t see how this could be a four-star hotel. One star at best, and an old one at that.

The one good thing is how close the hotel is to the walking street. The rooms and washroom weren’t great, and at almost 2500 INR it wasn’t worth the price. Don’t rely on the photos, since the rooms looked a bit different and were old.

The owner, Shivam, took good care of us, and the staff were kind and helpful. The rooms are nicely done and very comfortable. Definitely a place I’d recommend.
