Porterhouse Beach Hotel

The rooms were dirty and poorly kept. Sometimes the power and plumbing went out, and the owner and the woman there were no help. The owner was often drunk, angry, mean, short-tempered, and yelling at people. It seemed like he enjoyed ruining the business and other people’s days. He showed no basic decency or respect, and perhaps someone had mistreated him, leaving him constantly miserable and lashing out at others. Either way, he could yell whenever you came into view, and I’d strongly recommend staying somewhere else rather than risk having your vacation ruined by someone I experienced as a violent drunk.

We had a mix-up over our deposit, and the staff were prompt and great about making sure we got it back. I really appreciated their help. The hotel is well located, close to lots of beach clubs and cafes. Our room for three was a good size, with two separate bedrooms.

The rooms were clean, the pool and seaside view was nice, and the WiFi worked really well. Staff were friendly and helpful, too. The hotel is close to the beach and you can easily walk to the center of Patong. I’d highly recommend it for the value. Nothing to hesitate over!

The bathroom stayed wet all the time, which left the room damp, and the lady was always mad and snobby. We paid what we’d paid for the best hotels in Patong, but were told the high price was because of a concert we only heard about at checkout. It felt insanely expensive, and I was extremely disappointed to have wasted that money. We prepaid for an airport taxi at reception, but the car had no air conditioning and broken windows. We were sweating enough to make the seats wet. It felt like they charged as much as they could while providing the bare minimum.
