Chabana Kamala Hotel

The room felt humid and stuffy, and the water was so yellow it didn’t seem properly flushed. There were bugs too, including a cockroach crawling inside. Housekeeping barely seemed to exist, not even a basic surface clean. The night staff member May was shockingly rude and spoke to us in a threatening way, so we felt unwelcome the whole time. The location was alright, and the female morning staff were kinder, but evening and room service were rude as well. Poor service and hygiene. I wouldn’t recommend it.

It’s handy for Kamala beach, restaurants, and nightlife, but the welcome from staff was pretty limited. They gave us some information and that was about it, and no beach towels were offered. The water looked an odd brown in both the bathroom and the pool.

There was plenty around the place, and check-in was quick. The rooms were good and the staff helpful. I liked staying here, even though the time of year wasn’t right for going to the beach.

Motorbikes raced up and down all night, and with the hotel at a busy crossroads the noise was awful. My room had no windows and felt like a prison cell. I wouldn’t stay again. Keep well away.
