Crystal Inn Phuket

The location worked well, about a 12 minute walk from old Phuket town, and there’s a nice spa called anda right across the street. Rooms were cleaned every day, too. Still, the place was nothing like the photos. The building is old and under construction, and the rooms, especially the washrooms, felt dated. We even found urine all over the toilet. Such a disappointing mismatch.

Quiet spot, with a 7 11 nearby and enough scooter parking right at the entrance. We got to check in early without any hassle. It felt a bit expensive for what was there, though we booked at the last minute, about £17 a night.

The outside looks a little old, but inside the room was nicely renovated, with a comfortable bed and a good shower. The aircon was somewhat noisy. For the price I had no complaints, and the main street in old town is under a 10 minute walk away.

The best thing here is the location, and at 640 Baht a night through Agoda it was great value. I kept my expectations modest for that price. The rooms are old but still pretty good. The bathroom door wouldn’t shut, and the old air conditioning was really loud. The reception looked messy and dirty, with renovation work that seemed to have been going on for ages without being finished.
