Patong Palace Hotel

We went elsewhere early after the noise ruined our holiday. When we explained the problem, a woman started laughing at us instead of apologizing. Very professional. The constant sound and vibration from the AC in a nearby building made it the worst night I’ve had. That wasn’t disclosed, and I wouldn’t have booked if I’d known. The hotel is very old and worn out, despite the nice pictures and reviews saying it was clean with good breakfast. Staff seemed odd and uninterested. The bed was rock hard, like sheet-covered planks with no pillows. The shower was old, poor, and ugly. Breakfast was cold, not tasty, and had only three or four dishes. The mango juice was a joke. For the same price, there are amazing places around. I honestly wouldn’t recommend it. Don’t be tricked.

We spoke with the staff by phone before arriving, and they promised us a room with a nice balcony. They provided good service and the room was spacious, clean, and had very effective air conditioning. I liked the vintage bed stand and its built-in plastic buttons for the lights, AC, and fan. The bathroom also had a tub, which I appreciate. Our large balcony overlooked the beautiful garden and pool. A little staircase outside our room led from the hall straight down to the garden and its lovely path to the outdoor reception. They also arranged motorbike rental promptly, and it was an easy process.

Good value, with pleasant grounds and a swimming pool. The staff were friendly. Lovely hotel.

The one disappointment was that they wouldn’t let us refill water from their filter, even though water is a basic need. We had to buy it at the 7 eleven just across the road. The staff didn’t know English very well, but they did help us. Facilities were decent, the pool was good, and the hotel area was clean. Rooms were a little old-fashioned but spacious. The location is near the main area but away from the noise and chaos, and it’s easy to get picked up for tours around Phuket.
