Pek House

Room 4 was clean and fine for sleeping before we continued our trip. It had air conditioning, which was essential in the heat, though the room holds onto warmth and has few windows for airflow. There was no regular sheet, just thick fleece blankets, which seemed a bit odd. The fridge was unplugged and didn’t work when we tried it, but we didn’t need it. We only stayed one night because the place is about nine minutes from Rassada Pier for the trip to Phi Phi. The woman in charge was kind and drove us to the port early in the morning for 200 baht. Our room was a few metres from the part that looks like the accommodation’s front. There’s a 7-Eleven nearby, but little else within walking distance. It’s okay for a night or two.

Owner Nuna was really nice and helpful, and the area felt clean, safe and peaceful. The room was modest but clean, with a double bed, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a bathroom, table and two chairs, and a fridge. There was no electric kettle or cups, and most things are a little far away except Old Town. It suited me as a low-cost traveler. If you want high standards, this probably isn’t the place, but for backpackers and hitchhikers it’s a good place to sleep. I got what I paid for and was satisfied. If I’m in Pukhet again, I think I’ll stay at Pek House another time.

🧠♾️ I’m autistic with ADHD, and I’m sharing this for other neurodivergent travelers. The host was kind and helpful, the arrival instructions were clear, and the price was affordable. It’s also close to the pier. We chose a fan-only room, though, and it was very hot. There was no hot water in the shower, and the bathroom smelled bad and had a broken door, so there was no privacy. The room itself looked clean, but a very dirty, stained mattress without sheets was beside the bed when we arrived. There was noise from neighbors singing religious songs at night. “Room service” meant going to the host’s house to pick up food, and the advertised laundry service wasn’t available, we were sent elsewhere. Payment was cash only. 🧠♾️ It can work if you’re flexible, but heat, noise, smells and inaccurate listings may make it hard for neurodivergent travelers who are sensitive to those things.

We had an early boat from Rassada pier, and this was less than a 10-minute drive away, so the location worked perfectly. The host was the best we’ve had. They picked us up from the airport and drove us to the pier, charging less for both rides than Grab. I’d recommend it if you need somewhere to stay before catching a ferry the next day.
