Sugar Marina Surf Kata Beach

Everything we needed was close by, with a 7-Eleven next door and the beach about a ten-minute walk away. The staff were all welcoming and helpful, and we were really glad they provided a baby cot. We’re especially grateful to Thandar for letting us check in and get into our room around midday. The cleaner, Mew, kindly got a room ready for us early. We had an amazing stay.

Thandar at reception made our trip especially nice. She was friendly, gave us great local tips, and was very helpful with recommendations. Our room was very clean too. We had a really great stay and would highly recommend it.

The room was spacious and clean, and the hotel felt peaceful even though it’s close to Kata beach. It’s set back from the busy streets, which made it feel quiet. Thanks to Thandar for making check-in easy and sorting out a couple of small issues, and to Mew for the lovely housekeeping.

There’s a night market close by with tasty, inexpensive food and huge portions. A large 7-Eleven is nearby too, though its selection isn’t great. The hotel is on a quiet street, and the beach is a relaxed 10-15 minute walk away. It looks modern and interesting. Some bits are a little worn, but that didn’t really stand out. It was always clean, and the staff were ready to help. Our room suddenly smelled like gasoline or degreaser one evening when we got back. Opening the windows didn’t help, but Thandar and her young male colleague at reception moved us to another room without any trouble. It was just as good, and Mew cleaned it for us again. Thanks to Mew as well for the cleaning and the lovely towel swans. The hotel breakfast was filling and had a good variety. We really appreciated how well the staff handled everything during our stay.
