The pool is fantastic, and having two bars on site is handy. I especially liked Tipsy bar. Rooms are great if you’re prepared for the firm beds that are typical in Thailand. You can walk to just about everything nearby, including 89 Restaurant, 6 Restaurant, Tipsy Bar, Bangla Road, and Bangla Boxing Stadium. Pick-up for Freedom Beach is easy too. One tip: skip the laundry shop next door. I paid 100THB/kg there, when a place just around the corner charged 50THB/kg. I also had to call them out for keeping a shirt and sock that were sitting on their shelves while they acted as if they didn’t know what I meant.

I’ve stayed twice, both times out of season, and the guests I saw then were mainly mature single men. I’d recommend this little hotel to mature adults, though I wouldn’t call it child friendly. The Expat team were lovely and very obliging, and overnight guests are welcome, if you know what I mean! There’s a clean pool, comfortable beds, and a fully stocked minibar. The food is good and inexpensive, beers are reasonably priced, and even the wine costs about the same as at supermarkets. Everything’s great, and it’s just a four-minute walk from three malls and Bangla Road. Thanks to all the staff.

The location made it easy to get around on foot, and I really enjoyed the room and the pool. The staff were amazing, too. I had such a good stay in 2018 that I'm coming back in November 2025. I can’t say enough about the Expat hotel, and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again.

I haven’t stayed here myself, but I’ve heard the rooms are excellent. The food and atmosphere sound great, and it’s in a good spot with lovely staff.

A friendly, old-school kind of hotel. The pool and sunbeds are nice, and Bangla Road is close by, but far enough away that it isn’t too noisy.
