Clarian Hotel Beach Patong

The pool area was quite limited, with just three pairs of loungers and little space around them. That area also served as the way to the only restaurant, so using the pool felt impractical. The gym was barely bigger than a corridor and looked out over a warehouse. The restaurant serves international and Indian food, with live music on its terrace every night until midnight. Luckily we had earplugs. We were late getting our room, even though check-in was meant to be at 2:00 PM. They said they needed extra time to check everything, but when we arrived the safe needed new batteries and the balcony door wouldn’t open. Maintenance spent 30 minutes drilling and replaced part of the lock. The TV and magnetic door lock also had issues. The shower was another ongoing problem. It gave either cold or boiling water, never lukewarm, and I had to put up with that for over a week. They moved me to another room and sent maintenance several times, but it was never fixed. Rooms may come in different types, but their furnishings are the same, with only a couple of meters difference in length and a different view. I’d booked a Deluxe King Room with Balcony expecting at least a minimal view, but the balcony faced another one about three meters away. There was no privacy.

We had a lovely week here and would happily stay again. Nada and the reception staff were kind to us, and everyone was warm, attentive, and ready to help. The location worked perfectly, near restaurants, outlet stores, the beach, and local attractions. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet after long days out. Breakfast was fresh and had a good range of options. It was a wonderful experience.

I booked a one-bedroom king suite with a city view and was very happy with it. It was clean, spacious, and had all the advertised amenities. The reception also has a thorough ID check for overnight visitors you bring to your room. Solo male travelers may find it useful to know that if you’re unsure whether your visitor friend is female or male, reception will tell you so you can make an informed decision. The hotel works well for beach access and nightlife. The staff were amazing, always smiling, keen to help, and took time to ask how I was and whether I needed anything. As a solo male traveler, I felt like I was staying with friends. James, Nan, Pang, Wawa and Film, thank you so much, you’re a great team. I’ll definitely stay at Clarian again if I visit Phuket.

I loved staying at the hotel. It was clean, respectful, and offered great service. It’s close to everything, including the beach and restaurants, and the staff are very friendly. Thanks to the whole team, and especially Nada, who was so friendly and gave us a lovely surprise while celebrating my sister’s birthday.
