The Royal P Hotel Phuket

The bed was comfortable, and breakfast was the one decent part of our stay, though the vegetarian choices were limited. The room was very cramped, and the balcony felt risky with children because you have to watch them constantly. The shower was awful, with low water pressure and so many problems that we called a plumber at least three times, but it still wasn't fixed. The room was tiny, and the hotel felt more like an apartment. No one helped load or unload our luggage. The location was poor for us, in a residential area far from the nice places, with no good eateries nearby. To get to Phuket town or anywhere buzzing, we had to take a taxi. We stayed five nights and regret it, especially after spending quite a lot to visit places far from the hotel. I would recommend staying near Karon, kata, or patong to experience Phuket, and avoiding this place. The female receptionists were a bit grumpy and not much help, while the male ones were somewhat better. Tours seemed a bit expensive when we checked the quotes. Staff were also not helpful when we asked for rental scooters or information. I totally do not recommend this hotel.

The gym was a real highlight, with plenty of equipment, and the pool was nice too. It has a strict no food or drink rule, which might put some people off. Our room was spotless when we arrived, and the hotel's location near the park was handy for walks and fresh air. Breakfast offered a decent range, though it wasn't quite to my taste and there were still options for different preferences. The rooftop has a nice pool overlooking the city, and the gym is well equipped. Breakfast was free and okay. Kebab Stetion next to the hotel does a chicken shawarma you MUST try, it's a gift from God. I stayed four nights, then moved elsewhere because we could hear neighbors talking and people banging doors late at night. The bed was very hard, though the view was amazing. I paid a 300baht cash deposit and got it back at the end. There was a problem issuing an invoice for my company, but a receipt with my name worked instead. For more travel tips, follow @costinbotez

The location worked well, with a laundromat and pharmacy nearby. Rooms were decent and came with AC, wifi, towels, and toiletries. They provided a hair dryer when I asked. The mattress was quite hard. I thought it was considerate of them to make veg fried rice for the vegetarian breakfast.
