The owners have put a lot of work into the renovations. The wooden floors and stylish tiles make it a lovely place to stay. Our side room was quiet, though a little small. The balcony and pleasant seating area outside helped, but that space could get crowded if every room were occupied. The room had everything we needed, including lots of lights and switches. Being so close to the station is handy for arriving or leaving by train. A bike would be useful for getting around Prachuap, and it would be good if they had some available. They might also want to leave instructions for the TV.

We had a lovely, private weekend here. The room was clean and modern-looking while still fitting the antique Thai house feel, and the owners and staff were friendly. There’s a cafe of the hotel’s own with really, really good coffee and desserts. Street parking is available out front, and local restaurants and the town are only a few minutes’ walk away.

We switched to the larger room at the back as soon as we arrived because of the street noise. We booked through booking.com, but the rooms weren’t soundproof as stated and weren’t 30m2, so that needs correcting. Traffic noise came through the open-air hallway, and light got in through the curtains all night. We wore earplugs and eye masks. Also, all power shuts off when you leave, including the small fridge, which is a problem if you have food inside. The rooms are nicely decorated, above a cute cafe and close to the station. The staff were friendly and helpful. You have to take your shoes off inside, and signs saying Do not touch! made us feel a bit uncomfortable.

The cafe is right by the train station, with air conditioning and indoor seating. They make delicious scones and cream cakes, and the hot coffees are well made. We also loved the pistachio matcha lattes. The staff are very friendly, and the owner speaks great English. I highly recommend stopping by.

The owners were friendly, courteous, and helpful. They arranged a bus ticket to Ranong for me, which I really appreciated. The building is beautiful and recently renovated, with a distinctive look that attracted me. It’s under 150 metres from the railway station, has great air conditioning, and even a safety deposit box, which I’ve rarely found in Thailand. I stayed one night, from 21/01/2025 to 22/01/2025. The room was smaller than I expected, though the building’s lovely design probably doesn’t allow for large rooms. I went through these problems with the owners before leaving. Although the owner knew I’d arrive on the train at 21:05, reception was closed. My phone was down to 1% battery, and thankfully I got through to him, as he lives nearby. If the phone had died, I’d have had no way to reach him. He should have been there to meet me, or there should have been a sign explaining that an unattended reception means calling the house a few doors down. It made a VERY bad impression. The fridge wasn’t cooling properly. The owner said it was set too high, but it should have been checked before I arrived. The water and beer I put in the night before were still the same temperature in the morning. There was a kettle and coffee maker, but no tea or sugar, and the machine was so complicated that I had to call the owner in the morning to show me how it worked. She made coffee, but I couldn’t get it working myself afterward. They should get rid of it. A kettle with sachets of coffee, tea, and sugar, like I’ve had even in 4 star hotels, would be more than adequate. The coffee cups were too small. There was only one roll of toilet paper. If I had a bowel problem and needed more, I’d have had to ask. A double or twin room should have at least two rolls. There was a stool but no chair, and I have a bad back and need support, so a chair is essential. Stools are rare in hotels now. The hotel makes a point of being environmentally friendly, yet the shampoo and shower gel came in small disposable plastic bottles. That felt incongruous. The room’s very small sensor rubbish bin didn’t work, and the idea is daft anyway. I’ve stayed in 5 star hotels and never seen anything so daft. The bin was much too small. The bedside lights weren’t plugged in, so I had to rely on the main light. To turn it off, I had to get out of bed, go around to the other side, and squeeze through a very narrow space. On the way back, it was pitch dark, and I hit my foot on the bed base. Almost every hotel I’ve stayed at has light switches on both sides of the bed. Why weren’t the bedside lamps plugged in? I knew there was no breakfast, but there were no arrangements with a local restaurant either. One small thing, the kettle was too far from the socket, so I had to take it out of its basket. Why not put it beside the socket? Compared with other hotels I’ve stayed in, this one is expensive, especially without a breakfast option. At that price, I expect the best, and I didn’t get anywhere near it. My stay was very frustrating. There are only 4 bedrooms, so the owners should check each room before guests arrive. They need to try a lot harder. I wouldn’t stay again. What a pity, because it’s a beautiful building and the owners are very nice.
