King Paradise Payam Resort

I came for five days and ended up staying three weeks. King Paradise is a fantastic beachside resort, with simple, rustic and charming bungalows. The staff were helpful, and the location is perfectly central, with beach in either direction and the main road’s restaurants and shops close by. I loved it and will be back. Thanks to Fern and Fair for being such amazing hosts.

We didn’t stay at the hotel, just stopped in for a quick drink at sunset. The service was fine, but both cocktails were below average, and the bill came to 500 baht. Maybe we didn’t check the menu closely enough, but we hadn’t expected them to cost over 200 each. That’s really expensive for the island.

I only ate here, so I can’t comment on the rooms. The place looks very nice and is clean, but the food was average and the portions small. Smile hut right next door serves bigger portions that are cheaper and tastier.

We weren’t staying at the hotel, but they made us feel very welcome at the bar. We came back several times for fresh drinks, especially lime juice, while relaxing on the beach and in the sun chairs. The staff are nice, the drinks are extremely good, and the appetizers were good too. It’s a quiet, peaceful spot to unwind near the sea.
