The Shadow House & Bar

We slept well both nights, even though our upstairs room was near the bar. It worked well for our family of four, including two little kids, for a comfortable two-night stay. The room was basic but clean, with a private bathroom, mosquito net, and fan. The metal stairs were a bit tricky but manageable, and the owner kindly helped us with our backpacks. Thanks for the hospitality, and all the best to your family!

We spent two weeks at the shadow and had an amazing time. Por, the owner, is adorable and a super host. He seemed to know what each guest needed for a great holiday, and would help if he could, suggest ideas, or point you in the right direction. We felt at home, like a little family with the other guests. The rooms are simple, but well put together, very clean, everything works, and there are lovely details. Por is an artist. It's not right on the beach, but there's one a five-minute walk away. Being in the middle of the island made it easy to get everywhere, even on foot, which we did. There's also a great pool table, drinks, and music. Hope to come back one day 🫶

We first stopped at The Shadow for a drink on our first night on Koh Phayam, and ended up returning several times during the trip. We didn't stay in the rooms, but Por was a wonderful host and friend. He knows a lot about the island, so ask him about the pythons! He rented us a scooter for the week and kindly dropped us at the pier when we were leaving. Great drinks, awesome music, and good vibes. Can't wait to visit you again, Por.
