The receptionist at the desk was lovely, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. Black mold covered the room, and the bed was so uncomfortable I could feel every spring. The advertised Wi-Fi didn't work either. I would have tried to put up with the rest, but mold and asthma don't mix. I think the mold should be shown in the booking photos. I'll attach pictures.

Niazi Hotel is a traditional Pakistani hotel with a luxurious feel. At night it's beautifully lit, with an elegant entrance and golden lights. The staff are welcoming, the rooms stylish, and the busy city setting still offers comfort, hospitality, and fine dining.

For three nights, the affordable rate was a plus, and there was an ATM nearby. The water refill process, though, was confusing and inconsistent. I was never told at check-in how to get water or use other services. They only explained the 100 THB per night deposit, payable in cash, and helpfully pointed me to a nearby ATM. There was no phone in my room. Late on the second night, I went to the desk for drinking water and was told to bring down the empty bottle to exchange it. I had to go back upstairs for it. I understood it was late and perhaps only one staff member was working, but this isn't convenient for guests. On the last day I skipped housekeeping because I was barely in the room and only needed water. Around noon, I brought the empty bottle down and said I'd collect the refill later after going out for food. The staff said I couldn't leave it at the desk and had to put it outside my room. When I said that hadn't been explained at check-in, the reply was, “Other customers already know this.” That left me uncomfortable and wondering why guests are expected to know the process, and why it wasn't explained. I needed water then, not later with housekeeping. I followed the instruction and left the bottle outside, but no replacement arrived. The information I got was unclear and conflicting, and some staff responses made me feel unwelcome and dissatisfied. This may suit travelers watching their budget, but basic services need clearer communication and a more responsive process. Water refills should be simple to arrange. Check reviews closely, too. I've seen negative feedback go unanswered, then a wave of very positive reviews appear to overshadow it. Those reviews could be fake or biased, intended to manipulate ratings.

Nize I've got quite a list. The room was hot, and the mini split AC units mostly just made noise, as if to pretend there was actual air conditioning. The lobby wasn't air conditioned either, and the heat made it smell like a damp old rag under a musty sink cabinet. The elevator was tiny, like a bathroom stall, uncooled, and its lights flickered when it started. Haunted or broken, we took the stairs. The entrance is only about one car length from the street, so traffic noise bounces into the room. Furniture throughout had water damage and was badly decayed. There were flip flops in the closet, which I figure a previous guest left behind while hurrying out. The TV was watchable if you enjoy news through a snowstorm. The fridge had beer but no note saying whether it was free, and with no room phone there was no way to call down and ask. The bathroom had what looked like mold all over the shower curtain and walls, though it might have been forensic dust residue. There was facial tissue but no toilet paper. The tissue box used to be labeled leather, but now seems to think it's vintage marble. How does a tissue box get worn out? There's also a sliding window from the shower into the bedroom, so I guess you could order a Happy Meal from the king size bed. And the bed. The fitted sheet was so worn I could see the striped mattress from 1962 through it. No top sheet, and the bed felt like cardboard under a waterproof topper. We lifted the blanket to check there was a sheet at all, and it had more holes than I could count. The bedside lamp cord was wrapped around the post and wasn't plugged in. Check-in was efficient in a 1982 kind of way. They asked for a 300 Baht deposit, then the woman handed change from her makeup bag. No idea if we'll get the deposit back. We were given a real silver door key with a label-maker room number. The mixed women's and men's restroom in the lobby had no door, so the bathroom was about as confused as we were. The worst part is that every review seems fake. How could anyone call this a nice place? From the hot, rank entrance to the bucket-well elevator and mold above the bed like a Rorschach test asking how long I'll stay, it was grim. The listing photos didn't show the distressed furniture, and we didn't get the decorative pillows pictured. Value? Maybe, if you compare apples to apples with cell block C at Rikers without committing a crime. Bang bang pow for the buck? We slept on top of the covers. Comfort? The bed was so hard the only squeaks were what I assume were mice. The online pictures completely catfished me. I booked a hotel, but a motel showed up without makeup and in raggedy clothes. Hard pass.

The room was okay for my one-night stay, though the balcony faced the main road and was a bit noisy. It only had one hard chair, a plant, and the AC, so it could use improvement. When I went to check out, reception was empty and I had to find a staff member myself to get my 300B key deposit back. The bus station is walkable, about 15-20 minutes away.
