The Proud Rawai Resort

Breakfast was a joke: stale bread, dried fruit, and milk in the coffee that had gone off. We were first given the wrong room, and the replacement smelled of mold and wet dog. After we went out for the day, money was missing from the safe. When I spoke to staff about it, they acted as if they found it amusing.

The roof pool wasn’t usable for relaxing with construction noise going on above us. I could hear the work at 7am from our third-floor room, and we ended up buying day passes to the Pullman hotel pool twice because of it. The construction wasn’t mentioned until after booking, which was non-refundable. The website only said the restaurant was being rebranded, without clearly disclosing the work. The lift also stopped working during our stay, and the water was turned off. We were offered different discounts, ranging from 5-10%, while other reviewers apparently received 15%. There didn’t seem to be any consistent response to these problems. This should all have been disclosed.

The rooftop pool we’d been promised was inaccessible because the whole floor was a construction site. Even from the second floor, the noise was so loud that my partner and I couldn’t hear each other talk. We were there in peak season, while the hotel was renovating the rooftop. When we and many other guests complained, the first suggestion was that we leave the hotel during the workday, from 7am to 7pm. After a lot of discussion, they offered just 15% off, about the same as a standard promo code and nowhere near enough for the disruption. Running a project this large while continuing to sell rooms felt deeply disrespectful and showed little concern for guests’ safety or comfort. I’d strongly advise against booking here.

The apartment was so clean and modern, with comfy beds, a well-equipped kitchen for cooking, sofas, and a smart TV with Netflix. Having a washing machine was a real plus. The service was good and friendly, too. There’s an infinity pool on the roof and a restaurant with a view. It’s a great condo near Rawai beach and lots of places to visit. Totally recommend!
