Beach Box Resort at Rimlay Rayong

The location and trees were nice, and there’s a coffee shop with a different manager. But the mattress was uncomfortable, the shower head was broken, the bathroom was messy and the price felt too high. Check-in was frustrating, there was no parking, and dogs stole my flip-flops. My girlfriend put it simply: “bad bad bad bad.” She’s Thai.

It’s a great price for a dog friendly place, and the beach is right across the road, an easy walk away. The grounds need more attention, though. I watched staff walk past trash without picking it up, and the bins had no lids, so stray dogs could get into the garbage. Trimming the grass and keeping the landscaping under control would make the area look and feel a lot better.

It’s in a good location, but this was one of the worst places I’ve stayed. The pillows even had black mould, and the owner and staff seemed uninterested in maintaining the property. We couldn’t find anyone when we needed to pay and had to message the owner ourselves. At 600 baht a night it wasn’t close to worth it. Avoid.

The room was damp and smelled fungal, with big spiders and worms inside. The container was rusty, and the sheets had a funny smell. The towel wasn’t cotton and didn’t dry well. I wish I’d picked somewhere else.
