Central Place Hotel

The Wi-Fi password in the room was outdated, a silly mistake that always gets me mad. To make it worse, reception couldn't give me the password over the phone. There's no LINE contact for chatting with foreigners. Maybe you could get a LINE app? 🤦‍♂️

The room needs repairs. The toilet is cracked, the bottom of the door is badly bent, and the AC unit screeches. There's no deadbolt, just a small button on the handle, and the door doesn't lock automatically. The towels feel rough, and the room didn't smell fresh and clean when I came in like most hotels do. The balcony has no door, so you have to climb out through the window to reach it. The view is just a parking ramp and laundry, and there's no 7-Eleven within walking distance. There weren't any clothes hangers either. Staff didn't try using a translator to communicate, unlike at every other hotel I've stayed at. I've paid similar or even lower prices for nicer rooms with more helpful staff, so I don't think this is just a case of getting what you pay for.

We stopped here on the way to Koh Chang and stayed again on our return north. My wife and I were very happy with the hotel. Breakfast was included, and under 500 baht in low season was a great deal. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and spacious, and the Wi-Fi worked well. Lotus, a large supermarket, is within walking distance. We'd definitely stay again if we're back this way.

The room was well equipped, and the hotel is wheelchair friendly. There's no restaurant, but it's centrally located and has very good rates. Parking is inside the compound with a watchman. The only issue was the air conditioning, which can be hot.
