Hintok River Camp at Hellfire Pass

The river views and quiet natural pools were lovely, and the setting near Hellfire Pass made it feel like a historical oasis. Breakfast was very nice. Dinner had plenty of choices and was cooked well, though it arrived a bit cold and there weren't many vegetarian options. Getting around is the catch. Transport is only available through the resort, and it was quite expensive. I wouldn't suggest it for a budget backpacking trip.

The rafting was brief, but it made for a really special experience. The service was great the whole time, and it all felt like good value. The riverside tents are comfortable, with AC, hot showers, and big beds. There are also hammocks and viewpoints, and the grounds are nice to wander around. Such a unique place to stay.

The grounds were beautiful, clean, and well looked after, and the staff were kind and helpful. The resort was quiet after 10 p.m., as we'd been told, and there wasn't an on-site New Year's Eve celebration. We hadn't been warned at booking that nearby places would be very noisy around midnight, with loud music and heavy fireworks. That was tough with a young child, especially since we'd picked the resort for a quiet night. I know the outside noise wasn't something the resort could control, but advance notice would've helped us set expectations or plan differently. It was still a pleasant stay, and I hope the feedback helps them communicate better with future guests.

The BBQ dinner was the best meal we had on our whole Thailand trip, and the massage was wonderfully relaxing and good value in the peaceful massage house. Staff were so friendly and helpful throughout. We had a memorable stay, with beautiful surroundings and well designed tents. The beds were comfortable, and each tent had AC, a proper shower, and a toilet. Fantastic experience.
