VeeVaree Riverkwai Resort

The starry sky from our deck in the evening was a highlight for my wife. We spent two nights here with our young son, and it was one of the best parts of our short trip from Bangkok. The hotel sits peacefully and privately beside the River Kwai Noi, and from our riverside deluxe room we could hear the water running beneath the floating pontoon. Our room was clean and spacious, with the usual amenities, plenty of complimentary drinks and snacks, and a balcony with chairs, a table, and an outdoor bath. The gardens are well kept, and there’s a swimming pool too. Breakfast was a buffet with a nice range of choices, even with only a few guests around. We used our full day to visit some of the beautiful places around Kanchanaburi, all within about 45 minutes. Having a car would be useful since the nearest shop is around 10 minutes away. If you’re mainly here to relax, though, the hotel has what you need, including a restaurant serving dinner in the late afternoon and evening. It’s about a two and a half hour drive from Bangkok, and we left rested and very happy with our stay.

Dinner delivered to our room let us enjoy a meal beside the river without going anywhere, one of the nicest touches of our stay. The resort is lovely and quiet, right along the water, and our room had direct river access and a private jacuzzi. Breakfast was simple. We had no car, which made getting around a bit difficult, but the place felt well worth it once we arrived. The staff were kind and accommodating, though they spoke little English. Google Translate worked perfectly. Comfortable, scenic, and thoughtfully designed, it was a great spot to unwind.

We had such a good time staying in a room by the river. It was cute, spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. The view and relaxing atmosphere were lovely, and we had a lot of fun kayaking and rafting. Our kids loved the place too. We really miss StormBoy, the friendliest dog ever! Breakfast was good, and the staff were so nice and helpful. Highly recommend it, and we’d visit again.

The beach was clean and safe for the kids to play on, though it’s better for wading and exploring than swimming. Meals were fresh and simple. Breakfast was mostly local food, which we liked, but the choices felt a little limited after a few days. We came as a family of five with three young children and had one of our most peaceful holidays in a long time. The resort is quiet, green, and away from the noise and overdevelopment of busier tourist areas. Our villa was spacious, clean, and arranged to give us privacy and comfort. The plunge pool and outdoor space were especially useful with the kids, so we could relax without constantly leaving the room. Staff were polite and attentive without hovering. They accommodated requests like changing meals for the children and seemed comfortable looking after families with little ones. A cot was provided without us having to ask, and the walking paths around the resort felt safe. There’s no big kids’ club or waterpark, so it won’t suit anyone after high-energy entertainment. For families hoping to slow down, spend time together, and enjoy nature, it worked really well. We left feeling rested, which says a lot with young children. It isn’t glossy, over-serviced luxury, but it is peaceful, welcoming, and thoughtfully put together.
