Kingfisher House

The morning alms giving at Mon bridge starts at 7am, so getting up early is part of the experience. You can rent Mon clothes from the guest house shop if you want to join in. Kingfisher House is also handy for the red bridge, which leads across to the wooden Mons bridge, and the night market is nearby for the evening. We had a car and were glad there was parking at the guest house, so we didn’t need to leave it on the street. The staff were friendly, our clean rooms were larger than I expected, and the double bed plus extra bed setup worked well. Breakfast was nice, with pad kaprao moo, fried egg, rice soup and mango. Sangkhla Buri is a great place to visit, and this was a really enjoyable base for it.

The woman looked after us so well that she even gave us a lift to the bus station on her motorbike. It was one of the cleanest homestays I’ve stayed at in Thailand. Thank you!

I’ll always remember the pendant the hostess made for me on-site. She creates beautiful jewelry and kindly made me a unique one for a very reasonable price. Our room was stylish, spotless and looked onto a peaceful garden. The beds were soft and comfortable, and breakfast each morning was delicious, with a generous mix of different dishes. The owner, hostess and staff were all caring and welcoming, and the lovely surroundings made the stay feel relaxing. I’d recommend Kingfisher House to anyone visiting Sangkhla Buri.

We had a great time here, and I’d recommend this family-run guesthouse to friends. The breakfast was very good, and it’s only a short walk to the river. Even with both neighboring rooms occupied, we didn’t hear a thing from them. The rooms were clean and had Wifi. If you stay, consider taking the river tour sold at reception or in the breakfast area.
