Oyo 257 Sea Paradise Hotel

The hotel itself is good, the staff are good, and breakfast is good. The lady at breakfast takes proper care of everyone and speaks nicely to them. The cleaning staff are also good, and they do a very good job, but you have to remind them to clean every day. No one seems to pay attention to cleaning unless you ask. For such a large hotel, there are no other food options. You can’t order anything to your room, and there are no snacks available at any time. They don’t call about breakfast or other activities. The phone doesn’t work for anything except calls about checkout or payment, and if you need to speak to someone, you have to leave your room and go to the staff counter. There’s no service in the room, so the phone is just for show. The gym is only there in name. In a big city like Pattaya, it closes at 9 PM, when it should be open at least from 5 AM to 12 AM. The hotel needs to improve its rules and procedures.

The room was clean, the shower was okay, and I appreciated having a hairdryer and kettle. The hotel is a bit dated, but the staff were super friendly and helpful. My highlight was access to the gym next door, which was top tier. I even got to watch a little Muy Thai training, which was cool. We booked this place for its location, a 12-15 minute drive to the airport. The restaurant breakfast is okay, but there’s no lunch or dinner. There are lots of small places to eat just by turning left or right out of the complex. There’s also a 7 Eleven next door, along with cash machines. The hotel taxi to the airport costs 400 baht, while Bolt is cheaper at 150-200 baht.

The room was a decent size, and I tried one of the older rooms, which seemed fine. The bathroom is tiny, though, and shower water gets almost everywhere. At least the towels and bedsheets were clean and white. Don’t be misled by the pictures: the rooms shown have been renovated and cost slightly more. It’s an old hotel, and there’s no lift. The night security guard is a big, big pain. Stay here if you really need to be in this location. Breakfast is included in all room rates, but I think a hotel like this should offer a price without breakfast. There’s a 7 Eleven just steps away where you can get a better breakfast.

The hotel is great for a night’s stay. Breakfast is great, and the breakfast service is on point. Customer service is also really good: the manager is very helpful, understands and speaks English, and was always able to point us in the right direction. WiFi is included, too. The gym next door has lots of options, and the restaurant in the same building is yummy. The hotel is undergoing renovations, but they’re almost done.
