Akira Lipe Resort

This is the busier part of the island, so it suits you if you don’t mind the crowds. For a quieter beach with fewer people, I’d choose another area. The big advantage here is being close to the pier and the start of Walking Street. The ferry point is nearby too. Rooms are spacious if you book one of the pool-connected ones, and they all have balconies. The TV looks a little small for the room.

We’re at the end of a four-week stay, and I’m already sad to leave. We’ve been visiting Koh Lipe since 2015, and this is our eighth time at Akira. It feels like home as soon as we arrive, largely because the same staff have stayed over the years. From reception and the bar to the restaurant, chefs, and bell Boys, they’re a big happy family and always go beyond what we expect. The rooms are immaculately clean, and the little detail of arranging our young daughter’s dolls and teddies on the bed gets her excited every day. The food is great, and the Christmas gala buffet was WOW! I’m sure we’ll all be in tears when we leave tomorrow. Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday special. The breakfast was great, and the room was lovely and very clean, with an excellent bed and pillows. The pool area was nice too, but there aren’t enough sunbeds for everyone. People leave their things on them for hours while they go on day trips, then come back to use them in the afternoon, which is really annoying. A special thanks to the man who met us at the pier on the morning of 8th of January, Fit from the pool bar, and the young woman making omelets. Their kindness and good mood always brightened our day.

We spent five nights at Akira, right on Pattaya beach. The restaurant and swimming pool are also on the beach, with plenty of seating and a bar nearby. There’s another shared pool at the back, and it was warm and clean. Our room was spacious and tidy, and I loved the elephant towel decoration when we arrived. The staff were always smiling and extremely helpful. Breakfast had a good range of choices, though the coffee machine’s Nescafe was mediocre for me as a coffee lover. I’d suggest switching to fresh-ground beans. We had a pleasant stay, with lovely sunsets and live music to enjoy.
