Castaway Resort Koh Lipe

The staff were so friendly and did everything they could to make the stay pleasant. I also loved the restaurant, with tasty food and drinks at reasonable prices. Being able to put everything on the room and settle the bill at the end was convenient. I stayed six nights in a breezy, two-level garden bungalow. The bed was very comfortable, I slept well, and the mosquito net helped. I’d been worried about having no AC, but two of the three fans were enough to keep me comfortable at night. Since I was diving every day at the on-site dive centre, the downstairs shower was handy for rinsing off and getting the sand off before going upstairs. The eco resort was very clean, safe, and comfortable. I’d like to see tea and coffee facilities in the room, and a hand bidet in the bathroom, as is customary throughout Thailand, would cut down on toilet paper use. I’m coming back next September and already looking forward to it.

We’d return in a heartbeat. There was a peaceful feeling and special energy all around, with beautiful weather during our holiday in Koh Lipe. The resort is right on the beach, surrounded by nature, and has a relaxed, authentic feel. Waking up to the waves made it feel as if time moved differently. The staff were always smiling, kind, and helpful, and made us feel welcome. The yoga classes were a lovely surprise, well led and a great way to start the day. We loved the food, and having sunset cocktails with the sea right in front of us made for moments we’ll remember. Our room was spacious, beautiful, and clean, and fit naturally into the surroundings. This is my second stay at Castaway, and I still love it. There’s no air con or warm water, but I find the place charming. The food was good and the location is great. The staff are kind and friendly, though we had to flag them down quite often to order food or drinks.

The whole resort had such a relaxed, tranquil feel, and our bungalow was cute, cosy, and clean. The food was gorgeous, especially the best pina coladas on the island. We held a Buddhist blessing wedding ceremony here, and I’ll never forget it. The staff put so much effort into making the day beautiful, and were welcoming and attentive throughout. I can’t recommend this place enough.
