Horsehill Hotel Sriracha

I’m impressed by the kind, professional service here. The housekeeping team are lovely too, and the rooms are always clean and spacious. When I’m in the area for work on weekdays, I usually stay here because it feels comfortable, almost like home. I wanted to write in support of the hotel after seeing a foreign guest speak harshly to the reception staff late one night. The hotel had asked for the original passport for check-in, but the guest hadn’t provided it. My understanding is that hotels require the original passport under international rules. I always carry mine when traveling abroad, so I understood the staff’s position and felt sorry for them. The hotel has clear standards and the service is really good. Highly recommended.

The pool is great, though the furniture around it is just so-so, and a towel costs 50 baht. I was also charged a 200 baht deposit for my room key and didn’t get it back at checkout. Some staff were nice, while others felt too rigid. I can’t recommend this hotel.

The room on Agoda already said it included a sofa-bed, and we had a Deluxe Balcony Room with a king-size bed and sofa-bed for two adults, an 8-year-old, and a 3-year-old. Even so, they charged an extra 500 Baht for the 8-year-old, just one year over their limit. A 50% upcharge for an 8-year-old? It felt greedy. They also got my name completely wrong on the TM.30 I requested, writing “Chaidle” instead of “Charles.” Incompetent.

It was cheap because of the pandemic, and we appreciated the price, but the kitchen setup meant we couldn’t make breakfast in the room. There was a coffee pot, fridge, counter, and sink, but no microwave, silverware, plates, or anything in the cabinets. The one-bedroom condo was clean, new, and attractively furnished, with a balcony. You could close the bedroom door so one person could sleep while the other watched TV. There’s no breakfast, and no restaurants nearby. Good restaurants are in the city, but you have to drive to get there. The swimming pool was so tiny that we skipped it. The lobby looked a little attractive, but didn’t really invite you to sit and relax.
