We had a great stay in a quiet, spacious room with an ocean view. It’s not a view of open ocean, though, but of Thai Oil Rigs, and you can see the ocean too. The room had an induction cooktop, fridge, tub, towels and toiletries. The hotel is 2 to 3 kms from the main town, so I’d recommend having a bike or car.

The location was poor, outside the city with no shops or restaurants nearby. The first room was dirty, the bed had broken boards, and underneath it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a couple of weeks. The hot water heater didn’t work. When we raised it with management, they moved us to a better room. But there were no towels there, either. We told them, and they never brought any, so we had to go get them ourselves.

The room itself was acceptable for what we paid. We’d booked a twin, but it had been given away by the time we arrived, so we were upgraded to a premium room supposedly with a “SEA View.” Getting a receipt for company reimbursement was another matter. Agoda, OYO Rooms and the property management each said the other party had to issue it. The owner refused to provide a receipt for the full amount we paid, saying he could only receipt the 35% he was getting from OYO. We spent an hour at reception and got nowhere. Agoda promised to handle it. Do not stay here. The owner doesn’t understand hospitality and was exceptionally condescending while “trying” to sort it out. We were supposedly too ignorant to understand why we couldn’t get a receipt for the total amount we paid.
