La Provence Suan Phung Hotel

The owner gave us helpful tips for cafes and places to visit, which made my first trip to Suan Phueng really memorable. I loved the atmosphere here. Our villa was clean and very private, and it’s a quiet place where you can relax or get remote work done.

It’s a pretty quiet resort, and the building design is attractive. I found the grounds okay, though I’d expected them to look more beautiful. The room was clean, but the water heater was unreliable and a few outlets didn’t work. Kids cost extra, with an extra bed provided. Breakfast was a decent buffet, though the choices were limited. Strong winds badly damaged the electrical system during my stay, leaving the power out all night. The resort offered us a discount to apologize.

Our kids had a great time here, and we adults did too. The owner and staff were so friendly, more like friends. It’s a calm place, surrounded by lots of mature greenery, with small separate villas spread around the grounds. Each one has a rooftop balcony for enjoying the view. It’s more like a well-kept holiday home than a luxury resort. The only drawback for us was that the bed only came in queen size, so it felt a bit cramped with a child.

We only managed to book one night, though our family had hoped to stay three days. The grounds were magical, with what I believe was 80 rai, a river, fruit trees, broad green spaces, lawns, and misty mountain views. Sunday breakfast was a relaxed affair in a spacious dining room. The location also made it quick and easy to get around. And the beds were the most comfortable, with great shower pressure. A wonderful night.
