The museum next door is the hotel's special feature, with a wonderful collection of historical treasures. It's nicely laid out and a pleasant way to spend time in air conditioned comfort. There's a very reasonable admission fee for this private museum, and they give you a guide leaflet to use and return after the tour. The hotel itself is in a distinctive building, with simply furnished rooms. In this hot location, you'll need to keep the room air conditioning running nonstop. Breakfast is simple and adequate, though they don't seem to serve lunch or dinner. Since it's outside the town centre and no songtaews or tuk tuks pass by, you'll need a car. The drive to Sukhothai Historical Park is easy and takes no more than 15 minutes.

I'm writing this for my daughter, who had to stay here for her university. Her room, number 2205, wasn't set up properly for the three people the school assigned to it. It had only one king size bed, with none of the extra bed that should have been provided. Her friends' rooms were prepared correctly. The room also had a blanket that didn't fit the bed, as if they were short on proper bedding and had found whatever they could. The floor was dusty, like nobody had stayed there for a long time, and there was a spider web inside the refrigerator. Worst of all, no staff showed up during the four days they were there. I tried calling the hotel to help my daughter, but nobody picked up.

A lot of the decor is genuinely antique, so this is a good spot if you like old things. They also include free entry to the museum inside. The room was nice and reasonably priced, though the location is a little away from the centre.

The big rooms have Sukothai style decor, and I enjoyed the traditional Sukothai atmosphere. It's an older hotel, but the service was friendly and good. I had nothing to complain about during my visit, except that the TV only had Thai language programs.

For domestic travelers who are driving, it's an okay, cozy hotel with a contemporary Thai lanna style. The room is spacious. From here, it's about a five minute drive to the city centre and around 20 minutes by car to the ancient city.
