Leelawadee Resort

A cosy, quiet and fairly clean place, with a country feel near the Sukhothai historic site. Good service too.

The people were really nice, and the service was super. The location could be better, though they can lend you bikes to go into town. My room had a cosy little balcony that was great for reading, plus an area where a group can sit and eat. For the price, I guess it’s acceptable. The beds could be softer, and small lizards, mosquitoes, and cockroaches kept getting inside. It was also quite noisy at night.

There’s parking right outside your own room, and both the room and bathroom were clean. My room didn’t have a terrace or balcony, but for what I paid, it was good enough. The resort doesn’t have its own restaurant, though there’s a nearby one that serves great food. A nice spot for an overnight stay.

The staff were friendly and helped make the stay enjoyable, but the rest felt well past its best. The pool was out of order, the bikes looked like they hadn’t had oil in years, and breakfast was nothing special. At £34 a night, the price is far too high given how far it is from the Old City. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless everywhere else is fully booked.
