Pai Sukhothai Resort

The reception staff made this stay for me. A Thai woman there went out of her way to help with requests, and when my friend couldn't find a tuk-tuk to the bus terminal, she drove them there on her scooter so they wouldn't miss the bus. The hotel is a cute little spot in the new city center, with a small pool, a 7-Eleven, and places to eat next door. We stayed two nights during the lantern festival, so the price was higher than usual, but it felt fair for what we paid. The historical park is 15-20 minutes away, and getting a tuk-tuk to or from the hotel can be tricky during the festival. Still, I had an amazing stay and would recommend it.

The pool was nice, and since nobody else was there, it was very quiet. That changed at night when a new bar opened right next door, or possibly in the backyard, and music carried over. We went to reception at 1 am, and they shut the bar straight away and apologized, so the service was good. They also let us leave our backpacks after checkout. The rooms were okay but nothing special for the price, and the door wouldn't lock properly. It's in the new town, not close to the historical park.

The staff live in the building next door, so someone was always around. There's also a lovely Cafe with a bit of everything, and breakfast is available. I'd take it, it's well worth the price. The room was clean, and this is a great spot if you're planning to explore on foot. I've added the place to my favourites.

We had trouble finding our way to the hotel, and the owner really went out of her way to help us. Thanks so much, Pai. This family-run place sits between the morning and evening markets. We've stayed at lots of small hotels around Thailand, and this one stood out. The owner has put together large, clean rooms, a relaxing pool, and even a massage shop. There's a tasty breakfast buffet for purchase, plus a lovely bar and restaurant at the front.
