Space Ben Guest House @ Muangkao

We rented bikes from the owner for 30 baht each for the day, then rode to the main historical site and about 10 miles along the bicycle trail printed on the road. It took us away from the busy center to temple ruins on the rural outskirts. The location is also just a two-minute walk from the main Sukhothai site gate and the evening cluster of food stalls and restaurants around a small lake. We stayed two nights. The room was clean, with a private bathroom, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, daily clean towels, air conditioning, a fridge, and bottled water. Instant coffee and other things to make were available 24/7. We had the Thai breakfast both mornings, huge portions and very good. The bed is massive, made from two singles pushed together, so the room felt smaller, but it wasn’t a problem. There’s parking for two cars on site. The owner is wonderful, friendly and helpful. For everything this place offers, it’s unbelievably cheap. Highly recommend.

The room was good and affordable, and I booked it through Agoda. The owner is a very helpful lady, and the location is handy for the historical area. You can rent a bicycle for only THB 30 a day, though I actually got mine for free. I’ll definitely come back for the Loy Krathong festival next time.

The owner is the real highlight, so welcoming and kind, and always thinking ahead about what guests might need. On some tougher travel days I find myself wishing I were on my way back to her place. The room was comfortable, clean, and well equipped, and breakfast was very good. The location is superb, with the historic park, Main Street, and the bus stop for onward travel just steps away. There was a sturdy, safe bike to rent, which made seeing the sights even better.

You can walk to the museum in a minute, and the historical park, restaurants, and 7-11 are about two minutes away. Very convenient. The room was clean and quiet at night, and the owner was attentive. The guesthouse rents bicycles too. The one drawback is how clearly you can hear people talking in the next room, but otherwise everything was fine.
