K Park Grand Hotel

There's nothing grand about this hotel. They demanded a deposit as soon as I arrived, which was a first for me despite travelling a lot. We had a clean room and the staff were great during our one-night stay at K Park Grand Hotel Surat Thani. The mattress was firm, which helped us sleep well, and the street noise somehow rocked us through the night. My wife and I enjoyed it and would come back. Thanks, K Park Hotel.

The hotel itself was nice and comfortable, but the service left a bad impression. I checked in on 17/3/2024 and handed over one 500 baht note as the key deposit. When I checked out the next morning, they gave me the money back in smaller denominations, but it was 5 baht short. I only caught that later when I spent the notes and 5 baht coin on breakfast at a restaurant. A local would have protested about that refund. I'd rate the service 0/5.

My room had an unpleasant smell, and the way the manager handled my request was just as bad. The whole hotel was empty, but she wouldn't move me to a double bed room. Instead, she was sleeping and told the lovely girls at reception that a room change was only possible if I paid another 300 baht per night, which is crazy when the room costs 500 baht. The manager of this hotel is the most unprofessional in surat thani. That was an incredibly incompetent way to deal with it.
