For onward travel, the location is handy, close to the bus stations and pickup points. As somewhere to sleep for a night before moving on, it works. The owner is lovely and very friendly, clearly putting in a lot of effort while also being a parent and managing everything else. There are only four rooms, so it’s a quiet place, more like a hotel than a hostel, though the walls are paper thin and you hear how close everyone is. We arrived late and left early. If you’re not especially fussy, it’s adequate for the price. The room and bed were clean enough, but the bed was really uncomfortable, not just firm, and there were lots of mosquitoes. The whole place is worn down and dusty. I started cleaning the kitchen because I thought there’d been a recent coffee grounds spill, but the mess was very old and sitting under dust on the shelves. There’s a kettle, microwave, toaster, and basic cutlery. Does it look like the photos? No. Is it a great place to stay? No.

The room was clean, had a window, and the AC worked. The shared bathroom was in good shape, with warm water in the shower, which was nice. The family who own the place seemed friendly. Fine for a night to sleep.

This old building has a lot of charm, though it’s a bit worn around the edges. The staff were lovely. We paid $17 for a double room with aircon, which felt like a bargain, and got a surprise upgrade to a bathroom. I’d definitely come back!

A nice quiet location, with welcoming staff and coffee that’s to die for. The room prices are the one downside, and they vary depending on the season or day even when you book a block.

With just four rooms, this is a small, quiet hostel, so don’t expect a party scene. The owners were lovely and made us feel welcome. It’s two minutes from the night market, shops, and a 7/11. The AC works really well, and there are the basic amenities you need for a comfortable short stay in Surat Thani. Thank you.
