Suansin Lanna Hotel

There was a light coffee and breakfast in the morning, which was a nice touch. The hotel is on the main road but set back from the street, so it was quiet and easy to get in and out of town and find food. Clean, comfortable, and good value. The only small annoyance was that the door let in cigarette smoke from people smoking on the balcony, as well as the sound of rolling suitcases. I'd stay again when passing through Tak.

My room had two chairs and two tables, a good fridge, and lighting that was comfortable. It was a three bed room, and the beds were in the cleanest condition I've seen across the 20-plus hotels I've stayed in. The price was surprisingly low, too. Depending on the room, you might get an older or newer shower head and heater. There's no shower curtain. The faucet worked well, though the toilet flush sometimes got stuck, but it was manageable. A hair dryer is outside the toilet area. Some rooms have a TV with YouTube and about 35 channels. Netflix was listed, but I didn't check whether it worked right away. Concierge service is available, though I didn't use it. There's no elevator, so for levels two or three you'll need to take the stairs, which honestly wasn't bad, or stay on level one.

The staff were great, and the rooms were very clean and comfortable, with A/C and WiFi. The location is convenient. Food choices at the hotel are limited, but there are plenty of options close by.

The bell hop gave great service, but the front desk woman wasn't pleasant and didn't accommodate requests we'd arranged by phone before arriving. We were also charged more than the price quoted over the phone. The beds and pillows were horribly uncomfortable, and noise from neighbours above and beside us made for an awful night's sleep. Nothing special about the place, just a 3 star hotel.
