After weeks in Thailand, this was the first place where I didn’t run into mosquitoes, which was such a relief. The staff were lovely and keen to help, and our room smelled nice and felt comfortable. The bed was comfy, and the shower was good too.

These are lovely bungalows right beside the river, and the mattress was unusually comfortable for Thailand. Communication can take some inventiveness since the owner speaks very little English. There were also big black ants in the room, about the size of miniature dogs. If you've got a few minutes each day, you can hunt them down and catch as many as 10.
