The Blue Hotel

I'm not usually one to complain, but this kind of unclear extra charge is frustrating. A hot caramel macchiato is listed for 99 baht, yet mine came to 163 baht. The bill included a 10% service charge and 7% tax, which is fine if that's the policy, but there was also another 40 baht for “caramel.” I asked why caramel cost extra when it was already in the drink's name. Instead of explaining clearly, the staff member switched to speaking entirely in Thai and kept talking as though I'd understand. She said she “does that all the time,” which made the charge even harder to understand. It feels like customers are expected to accept extra charges that weren't clearly explained up front. So my simple 99 baht coffee somehow cost 163 baht because the caramel in a caramel macchiato apparently isn't included. Tiny little coffee.

In November, this wasn't worth 2000 baht a night. There's a two-year construction site right in front of the hotel, with constant grinding, hammering and cranes moving. I'd highly recommend staying somewhere else. I've been coming regularly for over 8 years, and things get worse each year. The photos I attached were taken in a brand new, clean room at check-in, yet there was faeces on the toilet that hadn't been cleaned. The air conditioners don't work, shower pressure is poor, there's no hot shower water, the sauna is out of order, and the bathroom has mould and scum.

The recovery area is a big plus, though I wish the sauna and cold plunge were maintained more consistently. They should be turned on every day so guests don't have to call about it. Other than that, everything's perfect: a big room, the most comfortable bed, and a beautiful bathroom. I've spent 7 months here in total this year and just came back. It was lovely to see the hallways and room painted a beautiful white. The hotel (Sha +), professional staff and management are such good people, and they make you feel comfortable and at home. Thanks, guys 💙 I'll keep coming back and staying here!

The rooms have lovely interiors and the hotel has real potential, but the construction right outside ruins the stay. It's within 5 meters of the hotel balconies and makes a ridiculous amount of noise from 7am to 8pm every single day. The hotel didn't mention any of this, and they won't allow refunds to switch hotels, which feels really unfair. Unfortunately, you won't get a relaxing stay here at the moment.
