The room was roomy and kept spotless each day, with a comfy bed and enough storage. I had a mini-fridge, kettle, decent lighting, reliable Wi-Fi, and air-conditioning that worked well. I also enjoyed sitting out on the balcony in the evening. The hotel is close to Kata Beach, shops, restaurants, massage places, and 7-Eleven, while the area still felt calm and not too busy. From arrival through checkout, the staff made me feel welcome and looked after. I was really pleased with my stay at Kata Beach Studio Hotel.
We wouldn't recommend Kata Beach Studio to anyone looking for a place in Phuket. The room was dirty and in poor shape, with grimy towels and sheets, and things falling apart. On our first full day, the shower and sink stopped working in the morning. We reported it at reception, but the repair took nearly the whole day, leaving us unable to use the room. Nobody offered another room or compensation, and the staff on duty didn't keep us informed about the delay. Worse, the bedroom door was left open when the plumber went out to buy equipment. When we raised our concerns, the receptionist laughed and told us to use the pool shower. The photos show what our room looked like while the engineer was working on the bathroom.
I don't often leave bad reviews, but I found this hotel disappointing. The bed was among the most uncomfortable I've slept on, the Wi-Fi kept cutting out, and there wasn't even a hook or rod for a towel or wet suit.
The room was comfortable, cleaned every day, and being close to the beach was handy. No problems during my stay. May at reception was great and really helpful.
The best parts were the rooftop pool and bar with its lovely view, the friendly staff and positive owner, and several restaurants right across the street. Kata Beach is 600m away. The rooms felt worn and smelled damp, the air-conditioning wasn't good and left things stuffy, and the kitchen was hard to use because there weren't enough utensils. We booked two days at 1100 per night, plus a 1000 deposit, but decided to move elsewhere after staying just one day. At checkout, we got back the money for the night and the deposit.
