Pullman Phuket Karon Beach Resort

Leaving after four nights was hard, and I wanted to stay longer. The grounds are beautifully kept, the resort is spectacular, and there's a great choice of pools. My family and I were looked after from arrival right through to the lovely breakfast boxes for our early flight. Chompoo kept our room immaculate, and the 24hr gym was always pristine, with the manager keeping on top of everything. The location and beach access were AMAZING. All the staff were wonderful. I'm sad to go, but I'll be back.

The beach is just across the road, and with all the large trees around the hotel, there was a lovely breeze all day. I was astonished when I first arrived by how big the place was, with so many large trees. Several of the living buildings had their own restaurants and coffee shops. There are pools with a slide and a small waterfall. Our room was clean and a good size, with a cozy big bed, and the shower room and tub were good too. The staff welcomed our group so warmly. I'll surely be back soon.

The grounds were our favorite part, spacious, full of plants and ponds, and well looked after. It was lovely to walk around and have breakfast there. Staff were extremely attentive and caring, and the services overall were good quality. We stayed in Building D, an older building, but the room was in good condition. The café and spa prices on the grounds felt a bit high. The one nuisance was the key card losing its programming almost every day, so I kept having to go to reception to reset it, even though I kept it away from electronic devices.

The staff were kind and helpful, and did move us when we asked. The replacement room was a little better and more renovated, though its bathroom still hadn't been updated. The grounds are spacious and pleasant to explore, but that couldn't make up for how outdated the accommodations felt. The Superior Room was old, unrenovated and cramped. With a baby, the bulky, excessive furniture made it hard to move around, and the very old tile floor didn't feel safe or practical for putting the baby down. The beds were extremely firm and not what I expect from a five-star hotel. Breakfast also fell short, with a limited buffet and food whose presentation and quality didn't meet our expectations. This was our second stay at a Pullman property in Phuket, and this hotel didn't live up to five-star resort expectations. For the room condition, breakfast and overall stay, it wasn't good value. We've stayed at better hotels elsewhere on the island for similar or lower prices. The resort has potential and a pleasant setting, but the dated rooms significantly affected our stay.
