Carunda Hotel

The rooms are comfortable, nicely furnished, and well equipped, and the staff are friendly. Carunda is clean and pleasant, though you can hear the guys next door and it's a bit noisy. It's one of three matching hotels side by side under the same owner. The oldest fourth place is farther down the road and a little different. In my view, Savotel is the best of them. The pool is a good size, but could use more plants and more umbrellas, or ones that can be moved. With everything paved over, the hot sun turns the area into a furnace, and I ended up trotting back to my room for air conditioning. The pool beds have fixed, awkwardly angled headrests: too low to read comfortably and too high to lie face down. The location is good for kiteboarding or windsurfing at the nearby beach, but otherwise isn't great unless you want a relatively quiet stay.
