Baan Krupong

I knew I was paying peak season rates, but at 2,000 THB a night the room felt too small, with barely space to walk. It needed better shelves or storage for luggage, and more useful amenities like a hair dryer, electric kettle, and better soap and shampoo. I would have thought it fair at 1,000 THB, but the higher price needs to be matched by the amenities. There were plenty of things I liked too. The view from the room was fantastic, and canoes were available just outside at any time. Even when people got loud while boating, the sound insulation worked well with the door closed. The bed was very soft and comfy, and the fridge was huge. Breakfast was included, with a decent and tasty spread. The owner’s family were really nice and helpful.

It's unsafe that there's no lifeguard. If you fall into the river without a lifebuoy, nobody can save you.

The staff were the best part, such lovely and helpful people. The guy running the resort took us to Erawan waterfall during the day and to dinner in the nearest town, all for free. Their English wasn't great, but they tried their best, and with some patience we managed fine. The view is awesome, and the rooms are cozy with a relaxing private terrace. I read some negative reviews, but none of those things seemed like a problem for a relaxing holiday or getaway. I'd recommend it to family and friends visiting the area.

A lovely spot to relax by the river, swim, play in the water, or take a raft out. Bring friends and beer and just chill. Pong and his mother are warm and welcoming, and his mom made delicious kautom for breakfast. Great experience, and I'll come again. Kob khun krab!
