Burapa Beach Resort Chaolao

The beachfront setting has a lovely view and a breeze all day, making it a nice place to relax by the sea on vacation. There are rooms in different sizes, from singles and doubles to family rooms, plus a hall for group parties and events. Breakfast is served with several options, including sausage and bacon, pork congee, fried rice, bread, and more. I’d gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a laid-back beach stay. ❤️❤️

We had a very pleasant group stay and would consider coming back. For the price and the beachfront atmosphere, it felt like good value, though I think 800-1000 Baht would be fair. I’m not paid by or connected to the resort. My ratings: atmosphere and beachfront 9/10, rooms 6/10, food and breakfast 7/10, staff service 8/10. The beach was clean, quiet, and peaceful unless other guests got noisy. Waking up to the view was a 9/10 experience. The resort is old and could use investment and refurbishment, but it’s not run-down and has a rustic charm. The pool and other facilities were okay. Evenings are quiet and dull, with no entertainment or Thai spa or massage on-site, so expect a tranquil night. Our room was a bit small, with fixed cement beds, but the mattresses were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was dated but very clean. Toiletries were a little scarce, and the unmarked bottles made it hard to tell soap from shampoo. The rooms were airy and clean. You can’t drink in the rooms, but there’s a small convenience mart on-site selling beer, snacks, and other drinks, which you can enjoy in the beachfront gazebo. Breakfast was ordinary but acceptable, a Thai-English spread with mini hotdogs, ham, fried eggs, fried rice, confer, pad seaw noodles, salad, coffee, tea, seasonal tropical fruit, and bread with jam and butter. The coffee tasted odd to me, like popular instant black coffee mixed with hot water, but it did the job. Most of the staff were great. They had enough people to look after our large group, though I imagine the team is smaller on regular, non-peak days. Some staff were fantastic; others, perhaps from the local community, weren’t confident speaking English. We smiled and bore with them, and it never became an issue. After seeing mixed Google reviews, I was apprehensive about booking, but I’m glad our group gave it a chance. People do complain about small things, and my stay was much better than I expected. It seems best suited to larger groups who care more about beach time and cleanliness than luxury.

The Seaview room was dirty, with lots of stains, a cheap look, and poor design. The bathroom looked tacky and badly done too. Breakfast was bland and low quality, with little choice, and even the plates were stained.

There are plenty of other options nearby. I wouldn’t recommend this typical Thai « resort « to foreigners. Breakfast was poor, and it isn’t right on the beachfront.
