Bangtao Guest House

We stayed for two weeks, and this was one of the best places we’ve had in Phuket, where we’ve been several times already. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and even lent us beach towels since we hadn’t brought any. The location is great, set back from the main road so traffic wasn’t an issue. We were in rooms at the back of the building (nr. 4-7), which seemed newer than the front rooms (nr. 1-3). The rooms had all the essentials, including AC, a fridge, a water heater and a kettle. They cleaned the room and provided water every day. If you’re a light sleeper, keep in mind the local mosque is quite close. It didn’t bother us much, though we woke up because of the prayer once or twice.

The owners were fantastic, kind and always ready to help with anything. I rented their scooter at a great price and got to the beach in exactly 2 minutes. The location is perfect, and I had a good stay. I’ll be back in Phuket and would happily book here again. The room was cheap, so don’t expect luxury. It was large and clean, though pretty basic. The bed felt a little uncomfortable to me, and the shower pressure was sometimes weak. The sink tap really wasn’t functional and needs replacing. Those are things that could be improved.

The owners are kind and rent out scooters. You can walk to Bangtao’s main road in five minutes, where there are lots of great restaurants. It’s a great, inexpensive place to stay on vacation, and they clean the room when you ask. Bring earplugs for the roosters at 5 AM if you don’t want to be woken up. An eye mask could help too.

It’s a clean, nice place, and the beach is within a reasonable walk. The woman at the shop next door rents bicycles.
